Restart Grant:

The aim of this scheme is to help you get your finances back on track by providing a grant towards your debt. You must have significant arrears and have suffered major change in your circumstances due to illness, family crisis, job loss etc. To be eligible for this, you must set up a payment plan with us first.

Back on Track:

This scheme aims to help you reduce your current water bill if you are receiving benefits. It is currently only available for people living in certain postcodes and to be eligible, you must not be a home owner and must be in receipt of a relevant benefit. The amount of reduction will depend on your circumstances.

Payment Match:

This scheme aims to help people in financial difficulties and genuine hardship by setting up a payment plan which they will match £ for £ if all payments are successful over a 13 week period. You must have at least two years of arrears and must be able to pay your current bill over 52 weeks.

DWP Water Direct:

The aim of this scheme is to help you pay your water charges directly from your benefits. Your current water charge plus £3.60 towards your arrears will be deducted from your benefits over a 52 week period. You must be a minimum of £50 in arrears and receiving Income Support/JSA/ESA.

Help to Pay:

The aim of this scheme is to help you pay your by capping your annual bills at an affordable amount based on their income and outgoings. You must be a minimum of £50 in arrears and receiving Pension Credits/ Pension Credit Guarantee.

Anglian Water

Water Direct:

If you are in receipt of income support, Job seekers Allowance, Pensions Credit or Employment Support Allowance, the Benefits Office can arrange for payments to be made directly to Anglian Water. This would cover both your current charges and arrears, which includes any county court claims.

Anglian Water Assistance Fund (AWAF):

If you are not in receipt of any of the above, Anglian Water may still be able to help. You may be eligible to apply to the Anglian Water Assistance fund. Charis Grant is an independent organisation who provides assistance to customers of Anglian Water who are experiencing financial hardship.
